What The Bible Says About The Gift of Prophecy
The gift of prophecy is the ability to receive and communicate a message from God to others. It's a tool of love and is one of the spiritual gifts mentioned in the Bible, and is often used in churches and other religious settings to help guide and encourage believers.
Prophecy can be used to bring comfort, guidance, and direction to those who are in need.
Many believers have avoided the gift of prophecy because it has been abused, misunderstood, and thought to only be for the elite or special few.
With this training, you will learn what the Bible actually says about the gift of prophecy.
I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind; And your sons and your daughters will prophesy, Your old men will have dreams, Your young men will see visions. Joel 2:28
- Acts 2 was the outpouring of the Holy Spirit that fulfilled this prophecy.
Pursue love, yet earnestly desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. 1 Corinthians 14:1
- Paul said to especially eagerly pursue the gift of prophecy. This means it can be obtained!
Do not despise prophecies, but test everything; hold fast what is good. 1 Thessalonians 5: 20-21
- We embrace the prophetic and test it.
But those who prophesy are speaking to people to give them strength, encouragement, and comfort. 1 Corinthians 14:3
